Kids and parents: there are some great safety tips here: www.kidsmart.org.uk
We set out in our terms and conditions for use of this site that people under the age of legal consent (18 in the UK) have to use this site only under the supervision of a parent or other responsible adult.
We can't police that.
We rely upon you the sensible teenager, and you the responsible adult, to take all proper care.
You'll most likely know what to do and we don't want to interfere with your rights to make decisions but these are some extra tips we hope you might find useful.
1. If you or they blush a little when thinking of posting anything: it's probably best not to.
2. Parents, do talk to your children about what they use the Web and our site for and get involved in it with them.
3. Do ask them if they have met any friendly people on-line and find out a little about them. (You'd "run an eye over" any new friends they brought home wouldn't you?)
4. Tell them people sometimes pretend to be different to the reality, when they are on-line and hidden.
5. Never, ever, give out passwords or other really personal info to anybody.
